History of BCN
Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Bangkok is the first academic institute of the Ministry of Public Health, Thailand. The former name of the college was “School of Nursing Midwife and Health.” This nursing school was established by Lt.Col. Laung Nit Vejvisit when he was a medical services director. The main objective of establishing the college were to solve the problem of nursing shortages during World War II, and to supply nurse personnel nationwide according to Medical Services Policy. In 1974, the school was organized under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Public Health, and renamed as “College of Nursing Bangkok.” In February 14, 1994, Princess Srinagarindra coffered the college name as “Boromarajonani College of Nursing” and ending with all provincial names. Therefore, the college name became “Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Bangkok (BCNB). |
